James,

I was looking at your web site today. I have been interested in pictures of Bill Dragoo from the recent competition. Anyway I am a Edmond Fire fighter and I thought that some pictures of Fire fighter boots might be kinda cool. If you are interested just let me know.

Thanks for the feedback! I put an SB-800 speedlight inside the car with a warming gel, triggered by a pocket wizard. No modifier on the speedlight if I remember correctly. If anything I might have put the frosted dome on it, but I don't use those very often. I also placed an SB-800 speedlight with a warming gel under the car. Used WB of around 5000K I believe and gelled my speedlights to go warm. Left my studio strobes ungelled.

This looks fantastic. Most people leave photo links in Strobist comments that lead to pretty crappy work, but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Love the fog, and I think the mixed wb really helps it pop. Kudos.

How did you light up the interior of the car?

I'm guessing a speedlight of some sort, but what about modifiers and so forth?

I agree - the leathers shot is much stronger. Great site, great work, thanks for the lighting info...
Cheers.
