Women and Harleys

I did this photo for an assignment in Ride Oklahoma Magazine about women who ride. We wanted to break the stereotype of “biker chicks” and show a more realistic setting, two women out for a Sunday ride. We shot this in front of Bill Dragoo’s rustic barn in Norman, with his wife Susan Dragoo to camera right. I used two large softboxes to camera left and right to flood the shaded area with soft, even lighting to give it the natural look. The artificial light adds crispness to the image and fills in some of the shadow areas, yet is not noticable.
