My best friend Tommy Bolton organizes several motorcycle drag races each year. This time he organized “Soul in the Valley” at Thunder Valley Raceway in Noble, Oklahoma. I love photographing sunset races there, since the sun sets right off the end of the track, giving me the opportunity to take some beautiful pictures that show […]

Hauling alfalfa hay in Wellington Texas
Passing through Wellington today – south of Amarillo in the Texas panhandle – I was reminding of my first trip to this rural west Texas town. I was with my dad as he drove a huge semi-truck with a refrigerated trailer to pick up a load of alfalfa hay for our horses. His good friend […]

Early morning bicycle ride in OKC
I have been caring for my mom at home under hospice care for the past few weeks and finally had a chance to get out for a bicycle ride early on a Sunday morning in downtown Oklahoma City. I have ridden all over the bike trails and per my usual curiosity, I now like to […]

Edmond Bike Night
Last year, several local merchants started Edmond Bike Night at the Railyard in downtown Edmond. I usually try to attend, often riding my Suzuki DRZ-400 or BMW F650GS. This time I brought my Nikon Z6 camera and an old Nikon 105 F2.5 AIS manual-focus lens for some pictures. I had to use the Nikon FT2 […]

4x5x365 – Image 211
Taking action photos with a 4×5 rail camera is always a challenge. I set up on this turn and hoped I would get some action with the long road in the background and some riders in the foreground. I was pretty happy with how this one turned out – no blurring despite shooting at ISO-100, […]

A cold night on motorcycles in Arkansas
Bill Dragoo and I were on a week-long motorcycle ride in Arkansas for a magazine story. It was early April on a cold rainy late afternoon as we wound along lonesome Highway 16 in the Boston Mountains. Our heated vests were barely keeping us warm, especially as the rain tried to seep through our gear […]

Me and a 50

Me and a 50 and mountain bikes – with my Nikon F3HP
I used my recently acquired Nikon F3HP and Nikkor 50mm F1.2 lens to capture film images at a mountain bike race at Oklahoma City’s Lake Hefner riding area.

Family on the 4th with a 50
We were hanging around the pool at Kay’s brother’s house in Hot Springs. I had just purchased my Nikon F3HP film camera and used it to capture this picture of her brother Rick and his wife Pamela on Kodak TMAX-100 film. I was just learning the ins and out’s of the F3HP on this trip.

Two pretty girls on film with my Nikon F3HP
I took this photo of my daughter-in-law Cheryl Pratt and my granddaughter Kaitlyn Reber while at a 4th of July celebration in Hot Springs, Arkansas. We were hanging around the swimming pool and I had my recently purchased Nikon F3HP film camera and a 50mm 1.8 lens. I shot this on Kodak TMAX-100 film.
