This past summer I did a photo shoot at Express Ranches in Oklahoma City for Emily Cochran, an aspiring model from Shawnee, Oklahoma. I had done some work with her before and this time we were just working on her portfolio. She met me at our studio (then located in Bethany) well before daylight. We then drove to Express Ranches in Yukon so we could get these pictures for the sunrise. I brought two SB-900 flashes on light stands with custom made softboxes and soft grids to soften and control the light. We had to climb a couple of fences – one an electric fence – to find a spot with a clear background without clutter. Working in a pasture with cow fresh cow patties nearby, we were able to get some very nice pictures at sunrise.
Below is the lighting diagram for these pictures. The sun was just peaking over the horizon. We used the gridded softboxes to provide fill and shape to the subjects.
This Emily is one of the worlds most georgous!
She really looks like she should be doing movies, or on the cover of America’s Next Model….
