I have been trying to figure out a way to hook a digital back to my Toyo VX125 4″x5″ view camera for the past year, but just haven’t been able to come up with a cost effective solution short of buying a $30,000 digital back. I don’t use it enough to justify that cost. So I finally just decided to bite the bullet and start shooting film again in this beauty, one of my all time favorite cameras.
I set up my camera and pulled out my old film holders and film logs and started getting everything ready and tested. Today I plan to load some Kodak Portra VC 160 film and some Ektrachrome 100, then bring in some people for portrait sessions. I have an Epson V750 film scanner on order so that I can scan my film. I hate that I sold my Jobo film processor a couple of years ago, but I will just have to get film processed locally for now.
I am looking forward to the big, beautiful negatives I get with this wonderful camera. Can’t wait!
