Like most southern and western states, hunting is a tradition when growing up in rural Oklahoma. Most kids start out hunting rabbits and squirrels, then later graduate to deer, turkey, quail and waterfowl. As part of the central flyway, eastern Oklahoma offers excellent waterfowl hunting. As a major waterway the Arkansas River provides top duck hunting habitat, but there are also many smaller man-made watershed control ponds that offer excellent hunting for migratory birds.
Vance Fielder and Tony Osborne, high school classmates from Dewey, Oklahoma, began hunting together as friends. They eventually joined together and started a company called Quack Kills. Now they guide hunters to various hunting locations around northeast Oklahoma.
