I photographed a story about Wildcare Animal Rescue in Noble, OK for a feature story for Oklahoma Today Magazine during the summer 2014. I worked with writer Karlie Tipton on the story, The assignment took me to Wildcare’s facilities over several trips and to a remote release site in rural Oklahoma. To capture these animals being cared for by humans, I had to use a lot of remote trigger cameras and wide angle lenses to put the viewer “in the cage” with the animals as they were being cared for. My photograph of a “teenage” owl was used as the basis for a photo illustration on the cover.
Below is a slideshow with some outtakes from the assignment.
