Unlucky 13. Yep, I screwed this photo up. I was on assignment for a client and after photographing this couple, I asked if I could get a picture using my view camera. They were very pleasant and agreed. I shot the picture in just a few minutes, packed my gear and left. On the way home I decided to grab a few more large format pics for my 4x5x365 project. I set up and shot a grain elevator, started loading my gear and realized DOOOHHH! I had just double exposed the photo I had took of the couple. I had inserted my film slide the wrong way and didn’t realize I had already exposed this piece of film until I looked at the app on my phone. Darn, darn, darn. Shooting 4×5 photos is hard. Getting people in my 4×5 photos is even more difficult. Then to screw it up! Dang it!
Oh well, I scan it and present it here to show that 4×5 is not an easy thing to shoot. There are SO many chances to screw things up, whether it is loading the film wrong, incorrect exposure, improper mounting of the film holder in the camera, all the way to unloading the film, developing and scanning the film. Lots of steps where if I if I make a mistake, I mess up the photo. And this would have been so good!
