Jamie Rich is riding his BMW F800GS motorcycle to Bill Dragoo’s Adventure Rider training camp at Sundog ORV park in Lexington, Oklahoma. Both Bill and I owned F800GS motorcycles back in about 2008 but only kept the bikes a year and swapped them out for R1200GS Adventure motorcycles. I thought the F800 was a nice bike but had the absolute WORST seat in all of motorcycling. I normally ride stock seats and have even ridden a stock CBR1000RR seat for a two week, 5,400 mile tour – but I could barely ride the F800 seat for a half day. I also like the powerband 1200 over the 800 – a lot broader torque curve and less peaky power. But lots of people have purchased and love the F800GS – that is why there are so many types of motorcycles made, because people have different tastes.
I shot this photo on my Toyo VX-125 4×5 film camera on Kodak TMAX-100 film.
