Recently I was hired by Nike’s Air Jordan brand to photograph OKC Thunder player Russell Westbrook at his new shoe rollout at Foot Locker in Penn Square Mall. I was actually contracted through a social media firm that handles the Nike/Air Jordan account. My job was to arrive early and photograph Russell as he introduces his new shoes to the hundreds of fans waiting to purchase his classy footwear.
As most people know, Russell seems to always have a huge smile on his face. This day didn’t disappoint. He seemed happy to be at the event and very happy to meet and accommodate fans, even staying after his required time just so he could help out more people. Russell ran a cash register, signed hundreds of autographs, posed for pictures, and was generally a very nice guy who was happy to fulfill his sponsorship commitments.
