I have been running for off and on for the past year, and since April 2017 I have been running just about every single day. Why? I got really bad news from my cardiologist after my second heart incident in late February. I decided to kick things up about 4 notches and really start getting serious about diet and exercise. Since mid-April (about 4 months ago) I have bicycled over 700 miles and ran over 220 miles, culminating with my my fastest 3 mile run ever. I track my runs and rides using Strava on my Apple Watch. I finally hit a 10:26 pace per mile and averaged 154 heartbeats per second – both personal records. My good friend and motorcycle riding buddy Ed Jones told me a week ago he was trying to run a 5K in 30 minutes in late August. Kind of threw down the gauntlet so I gotta try and keep pace!

Earlier in the day I rode my bicycle to downtown Edmond for “Coffee with Cops” event at Evoke. So my ride along with my run gave me some good calorie burn for the day.
