Our sort-of adopted son and daughter-in-law stopped by recently to swim and hang out. Josh was my son’t best friend in high school and his best man at my son’s wedding, so he spent a lot of time around our house when he was young, so it seems like he is a member of our family, so we call him and his wife Kara our “adopted family”.

I decided to pull out my big chunk of metal Pentax 67 and grab a few photos around the pool. The lenses on the Pentax 67 are some of my all-time favorites, just wonderful pieces of optic design. Everything is manual focus, but the lenses are so bright they are easy to focus. The kids are so used to digital phone cameras, they wanted to see the results each time I took a photo. Oops, can’t do that. They were not too interested in hearing or seeing how I had to develop the film first and then scan it into the computer.
