I took this photo of my riding friend Matt Flaming on his KTM 790 Adventure motorcycle at a recent “bike night” in downtown Edmond. Matt is the resident GPS guru for our dual sport motorcycling group, having snatched that title from my hands over the past couple of years. He volunteers for a lot of dual sport motorcycling projects and is quite active in our riding community. My friend Jody Potter talked him into coming to Edmond for bike night all the way from Mustang, over an hour away. I had to thank him by asking him to stand still while I fiddled with my large-format Toyo view camera and “snapped” his picture. For those who don’t know, a large-format photo is never a “snapshot”. It takes time to set up the camera, get all the movements set, adjust for focus, load film, remove the dark slide, then “click”.
