After using my Rodenstock Sironar-N 150mm lens to photograph the Hoover Dam with my Toyo View VX-125 4×5 film camera, I went back to my Jeep and swapped out for my Rodenstock Sironar-N 135mm lens for this shot, which I prefer. I was able to get more of the dam in the shot with the slightly wider lens.
The 150mm lens on a 4″x5″ camera is equivalent to a 40mm lens on a 35mm camera. A 135mm lens on a 4×5 is equivalent to a 36mm lens on a 35mm camera – not a lot of difference, but enough so that I could include the entire dam in the photo. Why would I have both a 150mm and 135mm lens in my bag? I already owned a 150mm lens, and someone gave me the 135mm lens. I was planning to only take the 150 with me on this trip but had some extra room in the camera bag so tossed in the 135mm. This is the only photo I took with that lens on this trip.
