I like to do unusual things with my 4×5 view camera – like take action photos at the vintage motocross races. I knew it was going to be tough getting a decent photo when shooting on a tripod with a slow-speed film like Ilford Delta Pro 100. I could have pushed the film a couple of stops but I didn’t have a way to write the instructions on the film holder, and I just didn’t want to mess with keeping track of film pushes.
I thought this shot turned out pretty cool and “old-school”. My friend Bill Dragoo said it looked just like the photos when he was racing “back in the day”.
Of course, I also took my Nikon Z6 and D800 digital camera and got quite a few action shots. Below are some of the images from the vintage motorcycle races.
