Once again I was able to photograph a cover for Oklahoma Living Magazine. I always like photographing their legislative issue, since I usually get to take portraits of leaders in our state government. It is always a challenge to do something new and different.
This time the story was about civility in our state government, so we wanted to photograph the leaders of the House and Senate together. As usual, they are busy people so I had to set up and test my lighting in advance. Workers were putting the finishing touches on some painting in the background, so we had to work around the painters. I used a Nikon SB-800 flash to camera left to add a bit of clean 5,000K lighting to my subjects. The background lights were incandescent and probably about 2,400K so had an orange glow.
