I have owned several Nikon film cameras over the years, including one of my favorites, a Nikon FM3a that I purchased new in 2000. However, that camera was damaged in an accident, so I purchased a well-kept Nikon F3HP in 2018 to have a bit of fun shooting film again. At the same time, I purchased the famed Nikkor 50mm F1.2 lens for this camera.
I decided to take the combination out for a spin at a local mountain bike riding area in Oklahoma City’s Hefner Lake. Since the F3HP is strictly manual focus – as is the lens – I had to practice my manual focus skills to capture the action. While not as easy as with my Nikon digital cameras or my Nikon F5, I still had fun and got some cool shots. And polished my manual focus skills.
