On my way to New Mexico, I took the backroads at El Reno and passed this fairly new John Deere swather waiting for the day’s work. I turned my Jeep Wrangler around and went back and spent a few minutes photographing this scene with my Toyo VX-125 large-format film camera. The cloudy skies made it easy to capture both the skies and the foreground in the shot without over or under exposing anything. A hanger at El Reno Airport – which I flown into many times – is in the background.
