I think it is a trap for a photographer to get into the mindset that every photo you take has to be awesome. It doesn’t. If you think that, then you can get paralyzed with inaction waiting on just the right composition, light, or subject. I am a big believer that the more you take photos, the better you get. Even simple photos can improve you, especially with large-format view cameras. One of the reasons I started this 4x5x365 project was to build muscle memory so that I felt as comfortable shooting 4×5 as I do with my Nikon equipment. Mission accomplished, but I still need to take a lot of photos on a regular basis, because taking 4×5 photos is a perishable skill.
So nothing special. I just set up my Toyo VX-125 on a tripod at the entrance to the Bolte Cup competition and got this photo of a competitor waiting their turn. This was taken with my Nikkor-W 210M F5.6 lens on Ilford Delta Pro 100 film, and developed in Kodak D76.
