
I shot this photo at F8 so I could get a bit more depth-of-field than normal and be sure I got most of the horse in focus, while still getting a subject-isolating blurred background. When I am doing these shots, I don’t have much time to set up composition since the camera is tripod-mounted and a very slow process. So I need to know how to get things done quickly before my subject loses interest or moves away. I was pretty happy with this photo and would crop out the horse to the right if I planned to use these photos for anything. As it is, they are just for my pleasure.
