Vintage motocross with a Mamiya RB-67 vintage film camera

I took my Mamiya RB-67 film camera to the AHMRA vintage motocross races in Henryetta this past fall and shot some photos of bikes using the waist-level finder. This Suzuki RM-125 was a sweet ride.

Vintage bikes photographed with a vintage camera from around the same time frame. What could be more fun?

Actually I took my Nikon Z6 to the AHMRA national vintage races in Henryetta, Oklahoma, but also brought along my recently acquired Mamiya RB-67 film camera. I wanted a camera again with a waist level finder and the Mamiya is a blast to shoot in this format. In between racing motos, I walked around the pits and took some photos on Ilford Delta Pro 100 film and processed them at home in Kodak D76 developer.

I never raced a Honda Elsinore but I heard they were rocketships in their day and more advanced and affordable than the European bikes at the time.
I don’t know all that much about old Suzuki race bikes. I believe this was a wood racer from back in the ’70’s.
One of my favorite race bikes was a Husqvarna WR-250 2-stroke. Mine was a bit newer than this one.
I never raced a CZ but my friend Bill Dragoo, who went with me to the races, said that he raced them in his younger years.
I wasn’t familiar with this model of Husky race bike. I sure like that big fat expansion chamber exhaust pipe.
I hear Bultaco’s were fast in the day. These were before my time.
I owned a Yamaha YZ-250 many years ago, but it was a later model than this one.
