Several years ago Adam and I visited EAA Airventure for the second time. The first time we flew our Maule M7 taildragger to the “world’s largest airshow and fly-in” held at Oshkosh, Wisconsin. This time we took our twin-engine Cessna turbo 310R to the event and invited my good friend and aviation buff Eddie Bobo to join me. Adam invited his cousin Camron Hanks to hang out with him.
Like many other fly-in visitors, we camped under the wing of our airplane. Adam and Camron slept in the green tent, Eddie slept in the orange tent, and I slept in the tiny bivy tent under the airplane. That was the last time I used that tiny little tent!
We stayed several days and toured the various events, watched the airshow, and even went over to watch the float planes at a nearby lake.

Quite a few people airplane camp at EAA Airventure.

That was my last year attending EAA Airventure. I sure would love to go back again, but this time it will probably be via motorcycle.
