40th Annual Guthrie Oklahoma Car Show

Kay and I recently attended the 40th annual Guthrie car show held at the beautiful Mineral Wells Park just north of downtown. This show is a fixture in the Oklahoma car scene, as people can bring their cars and park under the shade of huge old cottonwood trees and enjoy the morning in one of Oklahoma’s most historic towns. The weather was a bit on the hot side, but the shade made for a nice event and the cars were fantastic.

Nice Grand Torino, but I didn’t see Cllint Eastwood around anywhere.
Cool Detomaso Pantera with the engine right behind the driver. Must have been a noisy ride!
Wow, nice Corvette. This was Kay’s second favorite car at the show.
Wow, what a nice Vette. This was the prettiest car at the show. It wasn’t stock, it was nicer than stock, and it was Kay’s favorite car.
I believe my grandpa had a truck like this. Pretty nice restoration job.
Shelby Ford Coupe. These are extremely rare.
My sister had an Olds 442 and she used to let me drive it in high school Probably not her smartest move. it would light up the tires.
A drag racing car from Guthrie.
This racer was showing kids how to get into and out of the drag race car.
Not something you see every day.
