The Magic of Studio Photography
I’ve been shooting in the studio for years, and I still love every moment of it. There’s something special about having complete control over the environment—no unpredictable sunlight, no distractions—just me, my subject, and the light.

Every studio session starts with a mood. Do I want the image to feel dramatic and dark? Playful and humorous? Intimate and loving? Once I know the emotion I want to convey, I build my lighting setup to match. Sometimes, that means using a dozen lights to sculpt every shadow and highlight. Other times, one carefully placed light is all it takes to tell the story.

People are my favorite subjects. A great portrait isn’t just about capturing a face—it’s about revealing something deeper, a glimpse into who they are. That’s what I strive for in my studio work. Whether I’m shooting with film or digital (and I still use both), the goal remains the same: to create an image that makes the viewer feel something.

Studio photography is an art of precision, but at its heart, it’s about emotion. When you look at one of my studio portraits, I hope you don’t just see a person—I hope you feel the mood, the moment, and maybe even a bit of their story.
